Coach Todd Ford enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Lovejoy Leopards after consecutive Bi-District Championships in 2017 and 2018. He came to Lovejoy from Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock where he spent six years as their first Campus Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach. During his tenure the Raiders finished with three straight play-off appearances and a District and Bi-District Championship in 2015. Before moving to Central Texas, Coach Ford was at The University of North Texas in Denton, where he served as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach (2007–2009). While there, his teams set University of North Texas & Sun Belt Conference single-season records for pass attempts, pass completions and passing yards. Prior to moving to the college level, Coach Ford was the Offensive Coordinator at Southlake Carroll High School (2004–2006), when they went 48–0 and won three State 5-A Football Championships. He also coached running backs for one year. Coach Ford has also been on the football coaching staffs at Keller High School (Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach), Flower Mound Marcus High School (Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach), and Newman-Smith High School (Defensive Backs Coach).
A graduate of Freer High School in Texas, Coach Ford was a five-sport letter winner earning 1st Team All-State quarterback honors and was a member of the 1990 3-A State Championship Baseball Team. Coach Ford was a quarterback for the University of Texas-Austin, and was on the 1994 Longhorn Football team that won the Sun Bowl, and the 1995 team that won the final Southwest Conference Championship title that played in the Sugar Bowl.
Todd and his wife Zondra are the parents of three children – a son Tyler (11 years), a daughter Zoey (9 years), and another son Hudson (6 years). In his spare time, Coach Ford enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
Coach Clayton George enters his third year as the Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator for the Leopards. Prior to coming to Lovejoy, Coach George was the Head Football Coach at Tyler Lee High School. He was the Offensive Coordinator at Carroll High School in Southlake for a total of 10 years. Coach George has also served as head coach at Haltom High School and Hillcrest High School before joining Coach Todd Dodge, and Coach Todd Ford at the University of North Texas. He has coached two Class 5A State Championship teams at Carroll, 2002 Division II state champions and the 2011 Class 5A, Division I champion.
Clayton is married to Angie George. Angie is entering her second year at Lovejoy Elementary as Assistant Principal which begins her 26th year in education. They are proud parents of 5 children. Chloe is 20 and a junior at Dallas Baptist University. Claire is 17 and a senior at LHS and a member of the training staff. Carlee is 15 and a sophomore at LHS and a member of Lovejoy Band, yearbook and Red Ledger. Cade is 11 and a 6th grader at Sloan Creek and ball boy for the Leopards on Friday night, and Chandler is 7 and a 2nd grader at LES..
Coach Zack Smith is in his fourth year at Lovejoy High School serving as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. He is also the head powerlifting coach. He has 20 years of coaching experience, 12 years as a coordinator, and 8 as a powerlifting coach. His coaching stops include Round Rock Cedar Ridge, Denison, University of Texas A&M - Commerce, Austin College, Kansas Wesleyan University and Howard Payne University. He was an AllAmerican Southwest Conference Linebacker at Howard Payne University where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science. He also has his Master of Science from Texas A&M - Commerce.
Zack is married to Amy Smith who teaches language arts at Hart Elementary. They have two beautiful daughters, Zaya who is 7 years old and Amaylee who is 3.
Coach Tyler Wicke is entering his fourth year at Lovejoy. He grew up in Columbus, Texas and graduated from Texas State University in 2007 with degrees in Exercise Sports Science and Mathematics. He also recently earned his master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies through The University of Texas at Arlington.
Coach Wicke spent the four years previous to Lovejoy at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock. Prior to that, he was at McCallum High School in Austin for 4 years and Cy-Springs High School outside the Houston area for one.
Tyler and his wife Christine, a clinical pharmacist, were married in 2010 and have 2 energetic sons, Titus (5) and Madden (3). When Coach Wicke isn't chasing them around, he enjoys playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family.
Coach Austin Coachman enters his 13th year of coaching and his 8th year at Lovejoy High School. Coach Coachman is a graduate of Austin College in Sherman, TX in 2006 where he also received his Masters as well in 2007. From 2008-2009, Austin served on current AD Jim Bob Puckett's staff, coaching DB's. From 2010-2014, Austin returned back to Austin College, where he coached QB's and was recruiting coordinator.
Austin has been happily married to Andrea (Who has also taught in LISD) for 6 years. Last summer, Austin and Andrea welcomed their first child, Blaze Carroll to world, and he hasn’t stopped moving since! In his spare time, Coach Coachman enjoys playing golf, spending time with friends and family, and playing more golf.
Coach Tim Denton enters his fifth year at Lovejoy coaching Cornerbacks. This is his sixteenth year as a high school coach. Tim's experience includes coaching Defensive Backs at Texarkana Pleasant Grove High School, New Boston High School, Red Oak High School, and Hillcrest High School. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. Tim is also the Head Track and Field Coach for the Leopards
Tim has one son, Drew, a graduate student at the University of North Texas.
Coach Jason Johns enters his first year at Lovejoy. Jason grew up in Odessa, Texas. He played college football at Angelo State University, where he earned both his Bachelor’s as well as his Master’s Degree. He has twenty-one years of teaching and coaching experience, thirteen high school, eight college.
Jason and his wife Whitney have been married for nineteen years. They have two beautiful daughters. Morgan, a freshman, at Lovejoy High School and Kennedy, a fifth grader at Sloan Creek.
Coach Dillon O'Bryant begins his third year at Lovejoy, coaching defensive line. He grew up in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, graduating from Pauls Valley High School. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he met his wife Mackenzie, where he also received a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education. He previously worked at Wilkinson Middle School in Mesquite, Texas.
Coach John Fee enters his first year coaching at Lovejoy. He received a bachelor’s degree in History from Austin College where he played Wide Receiver. John graduated from Saginaw High School in 2015 where he was a member of the varsity football, basketball, and track teams. He also has a background in baseball since he was a young child.
John currently lives in Denison with his girlfriend Summer and their three dogs.
Coach Vince Hernandez graduated from Lamar University in 2002 with a BBA in Management Information Systems and in 2015 with a M.Ed. in Administration. This is Hernandez’s fourth year at Lovejoy High School and he will coach Offensive Line and Track and Field. Coach Hernandez has 17 years of teaching and coaching experience from 3 districts including; Cedar Ridge-RR ISD (6 yrs.), Hutto (5 yrs.) and Thrall (3 yrs.).
Vince and his wife, Jenifer, have 2 daughters, Sadi (17) and Karsyn (11). Hobbies include watching college football, traveling and spending time with family.
